What This Group Is

This is a clinician-facilitated skills group for individuals seeking to better understand and manage anger and strong emotions. The group combines psychoeducation with mindfulness and cognitive-behavioral tools to help participants develop healthier ways to express emotion and resolve conflict.

Each week, participants practice:

  • Recognizing anger as a protective—but potentially destructive—emotion

  • Learning to identify escalation cues before they reach a breaking point

  • Applying cognitive and mindfulness techniques to defuse “justice narratives” and rigid thought patterns

  • Transforming reactive energy into constructive communication and boundary-setting

Why Join This Group?

Many people struggle with anger that feels overwhelming, misplaced, or shame-inducing. This group provides:

  • A supportive, nonjudgmental environment for practicing new regulation skills

  • Tools to shift from suppression or explosion to mindful expression

  • A structured setting that fosters emotional growth, self-awareness, and accountability

Why a Closed Group?

Once the cohort begins, membership does not change. This ensures:

  • Trust and consistency among participants

  • Opportunities for deeper self-reflection and feedback over time

  • A strong, stable sense of community
